We now have between 20-30 Spanish speaking adults and children coming to Westside. This Christian group,
originally attending the Silver Spring Church of Christ, struggled to attend the services at Silver Spring due
to the distance and their work schedules. They therefore sought a congregation that was closer to their location.
Westside was that congregation. With several meetings to discuss the possibility of the Spanish members using our
building for services, this later evolved into the Spanish speaking group wanting to be part of the Westside congregation.
The coming of the Spanish speaking group has been a blessing for the English speaking members and the Spanish
speaking members at Westside. The Spanish members are eager to help in teaching, painting and caring for the property around
the building. The English speaking members are trying to learn Spanish. The communication barriers are being bridged by a few
of the Spanish women who speak English and Spanish. We have already had one service in which the Lord's Supper was being
conducted in English and Spanish.
We are looking at other opportunities to bring the English and Spanish members together in ways to praise and
glorify God.
